| The Model A is a
low priced, small wheel for the hobbyist or studio potter. It's durable
steel frame is very lightweight (48 lbs.) making it perfect for taking to
workshops and demonstrations. It includes
modular control connectors for reversing wheel direction and easy repair or
replacement of foot pedal and motor. The 12 inch cast aluminum wheel head,
permanently lubricated ball bearings, poly-v belt drive and foot pedal are
the same components used on our other wheels. And of course
don't forget the best splash pan in the industry - deep, leak free, spatter
proof, and easy to remove and clean!

Shimpo RK Whisper -
(3 out of 5 stars) - Similar form factor to
Brent A. Wheel head is the same 12" as on Brent A. The RK
Whisper uses a direct drive DC motor. The Brent A uses a belt driven
DC motor. The Brent A has a superior and very deep splash pan. Both the Brent and the Shimpo have speed reversing and are very quiet.
Both have cast aluminum pedals. The Shimpo's is attached to the unit and is
a foot/handle combo whereas the Brent's is a traditional pedal connected to
the wheel via a cord. The Shimpo is quieter.
