See what our students and customers are creating! At Handsnclay, we pride ourselves in being very unique from other pottery equipment stores. What makes us different, and we feel this is an important difference, is that we are potters first, and have been for a long time. Our customers enjoy our site, and us, because they feel they have come to the right place for personal guidance in making the best decision when purchasing equipment and supplies. We started selling equipment at the request of our students who were looking for a fair price on premium equipment. They also preferred to purchase their equipment from a company that actually throws pottery. They knew we could help them top choose the optimum equipment for their needs. We hold classes three times a year and enjoy teaching the art of throwing to a whole new generation of artists, hobbyists, and crafters. We learn from our students but we also continue to learn from the pros too. Melodee's most recent instruction was by Charlie Cummings at http://www.claylink.com/default.htm. She also admires the work of Dick Lehman at http://www.dicklehman.com. Our students come from very diverse and interesting backgrounds. For example, there is Jim. Jim manufacturers heavy duty axles for a living but came to Handsnclay because he wanted to find a hobby in which he could be creative. Jim loves throwing, is a blast to be around, and recently purchased a Brent Model IE. Jim also sculpts and you can see a photo of his work in the following images. There is also Cindi. Cindy actually drives an hour and a half for private instruction up to 3x per week from Melodee. They spend the evening throwing together; Melodee on her Brent C and Cindi on a Shimpo RK Whisper. They turn out quote a few, elegant pet bowls as Cindy breeds championship dogs for show.
We are Proud of our Customers' and Students' work. Here are some examples. Click on the photos to enlarge.
